Three classes designed for active Baby Boomers are coming to The GP! BOOM was developed by leading fitness experts to improve strength, flexibility and endurance in three convenient 30-minute workouts. BOOM MOVE IT is a dance workout class that improves cardio endurance and burns calories starting with simple dance moves then building into more complex sequences. BOOM MIND combines athletic stretching and Pilates moves into one fusion class. BOOM MUSCLE incorporates athletic-based exercises that improve upper body conditioning, with the focus on toning muscles and building overall strength.
BOOM MUSCLE is an action-based, functional and strength conditioning class that provides a dynamic workout. MUSCLE focuses on a variety of strength-based training techniques and movement patterns borrowed from popular sports and leisure activities for an action-packed class. Lunges for hiking and cross-chop rotations to improve golf and tennis swings are just samples of the movements included. There is no need to be an athlete to take this class, and every participant can benefit from "upping the game" -- whether on the court or in life!
BOOM MOVE IT combines a great cardio workout with fun, dance-style choreography. This high-energy class will have you dancing to music from many eras and genres, and can include a "Group Groove" as a highlight of the workout. Every class is designed to be challenging, but doable by providing modifications and progressions based on participant ability. Partner or group dance sections can be added to encourage social interaction and foster a performance-based atmosphere.
BOOM MIND fuses the best athletic stretching and Pilates-inspired moves in a way that makes these movements accessible to participants of multiple skill levels. Flexibility and posture issues are concerns of Boomer and older adult participants, so this class specifically focuses on improving overall range of motion and strength, balance, core stability, and flexibility. It also seeks to improve mind/body awareness and stress reduction through specialized breathing techniques and a dedicated relaxation segment.

BOOM MIND: Wednesdays at 10:50am
BOOM MOVE IT: Thursdays at 7:30am
Each class is 30 minutes and designed for active older adults ages 55+
(must be able to exercise in a standing position and get up and down from the floor).
BOOM Classes will be FREE the week of April 25!!
Under 60: $3 for GP members; $4 non-members (or included in FLEX Pass).
Over 60: Free for GP members and SilverSneakers members; $2 non-members.
