spring youth sports

parents meeting & players clinics

Spring is in the air and it is time for spring sports at the GP! Youth sports leagues are kicking off at the GP, and we are starting them in style! To improve the experience for families and players, we added some new things to our leagues which we will try to build on in future seasons.

On May 15th, we had an all sports parents meeting for our leagues. This was a great way to meet one another, understand league expectations, and get to know coaches. We had over 400 parents at the meeting which made for a great and busy night.

We also wanted to start our season with skills clinics. For soccer, we held two clinics, one for ages 5-7 and one for 8-14. We wanted to review basic skills for players as they entered into the season. We capped off our Saturday with a clinic for our Flag players led by Greenwood High School football players. This was a great experience for players and it was so exciting to see the young players light up as they interacted with the high school players. We hope this will become a tradition at the GP for flag.

Thanks again for being part of the youth sports experience at the GP and we look forward to seeing you this spring!
